28+ Best UKG Schools in South City II, Gurgaon 2027-28

UKG (Upper Kindergarten) is the bridge year between pre-primary and formal schooling. Schools use this year to build reading readiness, basic writing, and number concepts — the foundation for Class 1. The typical age is 4.5 to 5 years by March 31. UKG admissions follow the same October–February cycle as Nursery and LKG. Parents often use UKG as a last chance to switch to a preferred school before Class 1, since moving a child after Class 1 becomes noticeably harder emotionally and academically. When comparing schools at UKG level, look closely at how the school handles the UKG-to-Class-1 transition: are students kept together, or are sections reshuffled?
