Established in 1927, by Sheth Anandilal Podar, Podar Education Group has, from the very beginning been focussed driven and motivated by the traditional Indian values of honesty, integrity and service. The father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi, being the very first President of the Anandilal Podar Trust stands testimony to this fact.The IB continuum framework is followed in the written, taught and assessed curriculum which is child centric, holistic, inclusive and promotes international mindedness from Nursery to Grade 12 with the added flavouring of Cambridge IGCSE in Grade 9 and 10 to enhance the idea of personalising learning. The three dimensional curriculum develops knowledge, skills and conceptual understanding and is periodically reviewed to keep it updated. The facilitators use inquiry and concept based learning to deliver this high quality curriculum. Humanistic values and socio emotional learning are integrated in the PYP transdisciplinary learning and in the wide spectrum of subjects in the middle and high school curriculum. This curriculum provides ample opportunities for case study approach, active, cooperative and experiential learning, action, service as action and CAS as action.The house system at PORTIS operates on all round development principles. A wide array of sports and games, spoken arts and performing arts are promoted. The student government is based on developing servant leadership so the school community has an enriching experience. There are regular fieldtrips, specialised training and community connect. PORTIS follows the responsibility model of discipline which ingrains the idea of self-disciplining. Student services include Learning Support and Wellness Department and College guidance and placement cell.
