Army Public School

Army Public School NOIDA, began its journey on 17 Feb, 1995 with laying of the foundation stone by Gen Shankar Roy Chowdhury PVSM, ADC and Chief of the Army Staff. Late Gen BC Joshi PVSM, AVSM envisioned to set up an ideal educational institution of international standards for the children of Army personnel and this was realized through a chain of APSs across the length and breadth of the country. Located in Sec 37 of Arun Vihar, APSN was the second school to be established in Delhi-NCR.

The school is housed in a sprawling and salubrious environment with a network of aesthetically designed buildings, comprising of the Primary Wing, the Senior Wing, the Hostel and residential blocks, each beautifully designed and suitably inter-connected. The Multi-Purpose Hall and a Squash Court were inaugurated by the Chief of the Army Staff Gen VP Malik, PVSM, AVSM, ADC on February 09, 1999. Besides the above, the school has well maintained play grounds for various sports and games.

Army Public School NOIDA started functioning on 01 Sep 95 in the present Primary Wing for classes V-VIII with 59 students, 4 class rooms and 8 teachers. The school at present has a strength of about 1400+ students with 60+ faculty members. Since the school is not in any cantonment area and has no army units stationed nearby, people seek admission to APS NOIDA rather by choice than by chance. The extremely well maintained girls’ hostel on the premises is definitely a ‘home away from home’ for our National and International students.

The school functions under the aegis of the AWES, and technically falls in the purview of 2 Corps, Western Command and is in care of Senior Patron 2 Corp. The day to day functioning and management is supported by GOC 40 Arty Division as the Patron of the school and Cdr 261 Arty Brigade as the Chairman of the school. The Institution is currently headed by Principal Mrs Jyoti Rana.

It is the school’s endeavour to provide the wards of army personnel, with the best possible educational facilities, which are attuned to some of the best schools in the country.
