6+ Best LKG Schools in Mehrauli South Delhi South, Delhi 2027-28

LKG (Lower Kindergarten) is where formal learning begins — phonics, early numeracy, and structured play. Most schools form new LKG batches alongside Nursery admissions, so the October–January window applies here too. The typical age requirement is 3.5 to 4 years by March 31. Many schools internally promote their own Nursery students to LKG, leaving fewer open seats for fresh admissions — which means LKG can be surprisingly competitive at mid-range schools. If your child is already enrolled elsewhere, switching at LKG is straightforward as no board-exam continuity is at stake. Check each school's student-teacher ratio at this level, as it directly affects how much individual attention your child gets.
