65+ Best Class 9 Schools in Kellys, Chennai 2027-28

Class 9 is arguably the most critical lateral entry point in a child's schooling. It marks the start of the CBSE, ICSE or State Board Class 10 curriculum — board exams are just two years away. Schools with strong Class 10 board results attract the highest demand at Class 9 entry. Almost every school conducts a formal entrance test for Class 9 admissions, covering Mathematics, Science and English; some schools add Hindi or a second language. Students must be 13–14 years old. Transfer at Class 9 involves a full board/curriculum switch if moving between CBSE, ICSE and State Board — students and parents should evaluate syllabus alignment carefully before switching. Admissions typically open February–April before the new academic year.
